awaken to your true nature

Namaste, Welcome
I am delighted that you have chosen to visit my site. When my grandson Connor asked about the web site, I told him it was my way of telling people who I am and what I do. He smiled and said, "Just tell them you're Nana." I adore the simplicity of his childlike wisdom.  So quite simply, I am a mindfulness counsellor/consultant, retreat guide and grass-roots philanthropist. As a professional counsellor I have several years’ experience working with individuals and couples. My style of therapy is a blend of cognitive behavioural (talk therapy) and mindfulness (applying our direct attention to our experience in the moment). In counselling it's imperative that we work with the whole person. While there is great benefit in uncovering the habitual thoughts underlying our actions, we need a way to go beyond the analysis of our thinking. Mindfulness, although it may appear to be something new, has been practiced for thousands of generations. When we are mindful we learn to see clearly into our true nature and apply skills that help us relate to our thoughts, actions and our lives in healthy ways. As a retreat guide my intention is to provide a flexible and supportive environment, with plenty of time and space for everyone to relax and take a break from the constant motion of everyday life. Wherever we go, we enjoy carefully-selected accommodations, wonderful food and the great company of one another as well as new people and cultures we meet. It's a time for resting, relaxing, rejuvenating and simply enjoying life. My greatest passion is my grass-roots philanthropic work. If you go to the link "small change BIG CHANGE" you can read about the most current project I have launched. The rational of the project is simple. There is enough money in the world for everyone to live with the basics that support human dignity. Suffering will always be with us and so too will there be the possibility to bring cessation to that suffering. We need to understand that we are all connected and that our actions affect one another. If we can do that, we can start to see solutions rather than problems.
